Chapter 13. Destined to save them all.
Joey looked at the Wind Lord. He had a dark aura around him. Joey finally understood why Krad send him here. This man is up to no good. But Joey also noticed that the Wind Lord was way stronger then he was now. Did Krad really have this much faith in him? But, the morning when he threw Joey through the portal he said Joey lacked experience. How was he able to defeat the Wind Lord without any experience? The only thing he is good at is handling his power and a small fire spell he learned from Rose.
“Who stands in my way?” The Wind lord said. “State your name, slave”
“My name is Joey. and I am not one of your slaves” Joey said full of confidence.
“then why are you here, peasant?” The wind lord said.
“I have been sent from far away to help these people. And I believe you aren’t that much of a help to them” Joey said.
“Those words will be your last. You sound confident, front line, eliminate this pest!” The wind lord said while standing pointing out to Joey. the first four guards who were walking out front pulled their dark blades and started running towards Joey.
“Lets see if training helped here too” Joey said to himself. He took a firm grip in the sword he just made and started running towards the four guards that were charging at him. Their movement seemed slower then a normal humans. This was because Joey was used to the fast and swift movements of Jin, which were really fast. He quickly bashed into one of the guards, making him move quite a distance. He swung his sword at a guard which was beside him. Cutting his chest from his legs. Joey looked at the body which slowly was disintegrating into small particles of darkness.
“ what… these men… are they even real?” Joey asked himself. As he finished his line he felt a bash in his back. The back of a sword hit him. But it didn’t feel as painful as he expected.
“ha! Training really DID help!” Joey said. “Now lets do this! Three more to go” Joey smiled as he dashed towards one of the guards, stabbing him in the stomach. The moment his sword was all the way through the body, the man also disintegrated into darkness. Suddenly the two remaining guard charged towards Joey from the front. They started swinging their swords towards Joey. but Joey’s reflexes were trained all these months, by throwing knives at him. Joey deflected every hit they launched.
“Enough!” Joey yelled and he launched the counter attack. In a fraction of a second the guards where suffering from pushback and Joey managed to slice both of them, making them too disintegrate into darkness. Joey was breathing heavily. This took more energy out of him then he thought. Maybe Krad was right. Maybe he really did lack a lot of experience.
“interesting… for a mere peasant to take out four guards of mine without a scratch on him” The wind lord said. He looked at Joey. “Incognito needs to hear of this…”
“Incognito? What are you talking about?” Joey said to the Wind Lord.
“Nothing of your business… not yet that is.” The wind lord said. He slowly walked to Joey. Joey stood still. Knowing that if he would do anything the wind Lord would kill him in an instant.
“My name is Sin’Jun. Elemental Lord of the Winds that blow in the sky. And I have taken interest in you. That is the only reason I’m allowing you to live… boy” Sin’Jun said. He walked back into the group of guards. “men we are leaving. Pull back from this dump. I’m interested to see what this boy can do.” Sin’Jun said. He made certain signs with his hands. In a fraction of a second a sandstorm whipped up.
“What’s this?!” Joey yelled closing his eyes. As quickly as the sandstorm came, it vanished. With Sin’Jun gone along with all the guards in the entire town. People slowly started coming out of their houses.
“Its so silent…” someone said.
“yeah, and where are all the guards?” another one said.
Nico walked out of his house and saw Joey. “He did it people! It is Joey who got rid of the guards!” He yelled. Suddenly people started coming out of their houses cheering loud. Joey saw everyone running at him with big smiles on their faces. He smiled as they lift him up and threw him in the air. Although he knew this was only the beginning to save this small town from Sin’Jun, and other towns too.
From the skies. Sin’Jun was watching Joey. he had a grin on his face.
“Enjoy your time now young man, while you can. I’m sure we will once meet in battle. And when that time comes… you better be prepared” as Sin’Jun finished his line he disappeared in the clouds where he stood.
Back in heaven the evening came. And everyone, except Krad, was wondering where Joey and Tomoko were.
“Where can they be?! They can’t just vanish!” Marcus said.
“Its indeed strange for both of them to be out so long…” Jin replied.
“As long as they come back its fine… and I mean alone… not together” Nagisa said.
“why? Ohh yeah, your jealous aren’t you Nagisa?” Rose said with a big smile on her face.
“What?! I am not!” Nagisa said with the biggest blush on her face.
“That’s not important right now” Jin said. We need to find them. I’m starting to worry”
“Me too!” Marcus said while opening the fridge. “we have no food! Or drinks”
“How can you think of that while Joey and Tomoko are missing?” Jin said. As Jin finished talking, the door opened. Everyone looked at the door.
“I’m home!” a familiar voice said. The door opened and Tomoko was standing in the entrance with a lot of shopping bags, but she was alone.
“Where did you come from?” Jin asked her.
“Me? I was shopping for a lot of food and drinks since we didn’t have anything left” She said confused. “Why?”. Marcus rushed at the groceries to put them in the fridge.
“Joey is missing, was he with you today?” Marcus asked.
“No.. I haven’t seen him since yesterday…” Tomoko said.
“Then where is he?” Jin asked the group.
“Wait, aren’t we missing someone here? Except Joey?” Rose said.
“yeah, where is Krad?” Nagisa said while looking around. Krad heard his name from the garden and swallowed.
“Oh dear God they found out” Krad said to himself. He looked around to find a hiding place but it was already to late. The group came charging outside.
“Where is he?!” Marcus yelled
“Where did you take him?” Jin said calmly.
“I’m happy he wasn’t with her…” Nagisa said relived
“huh?” Tomoko said in confusion.
“Where is he~~” Rose said to Krad.
“Okay everyone shut up!” Krad said. As he finished his line everyone was looking at him. “This morning I took him to the portal gates. And I send him to “that” desert” Krad explained.
“You brought him to the desert where Sin’Jun rules?!” Jin yelled. “Are you mad?! He hasn’t had enough experience! He’ll be killed.”.
“Who is Sin’Jun?” Nagisa asked.
“Its natural you don’t know. But he is the elemental lord of wind. And he’s evil” Krad explained.
“An Elemental Lord? Just like Joey… I mean Avo is the elemental lord of Light?” Nagisa asked.
“Yes, indeed.” Krad said. “I sent him there because he couldn’t control any of his power decently yet. I thought it was necessary for him to see the battlefield. And He is doing pretty well”
“How can you know if he’s doing good?” Jin asked surprised. “wait.. you took the mirror with you?”
“yes, I took the mirror that shows all with me from the castle. I know it would come in handy one day” Krad said. “its in the men side of the room.
“W hat surprises me most… is that you didn’t really miss him one day. You thought he was with me. That’s pretty bad.” Tomoko said self confident.
“Well… you seem pretty sure of yourself now Joey isn’t here, you really do have a crush on him!” Nagisa said.
“What? Well… uhm… I don’t think… well… maybe… I mean… hey wait a minute! You got a crush on him too!” Tomoko said. In the meanwhile Jin, Marcus, Krad and Rose walked to the mirror to see what Joey was up to. In the mirror they saw the people throwing Joey up.
“He seems to be doing fine to me” Marcus said.
“Well, he’s just lucky. If the Wind Lord recognized him he would have killed him” Jin said.
“ah, you just can’t handle that he’s doing fine without your help” Marcus said while laughing. “But I have to admit, he really is doing good. I expected him to be in some sort of place where they hate him.”
“yes, he is indeed doing extremely well, that town doesn’t like strangers too much, so he must have helped them in a way to gain their trust.” Krad said.
“well at least we know where he is. And we can have some more time for ourselves” Rose said cheery.
“I don’t think so. We have another person who is in desperate need for some serious training.” Jin said while looking outside.
“yeah, she’s doing bad… but we can get her in shape. Joey will be happy when he hears we’re doing something about it” Marcus said while looking at the window.
“Indeed… slowly we are moving towards our goal. And there is more hope then ever” Krad said while looking at Nagisa. From that moment on everyone knew what they needed to do. Joey needed to help the town that was being tortured by the
wind lord. And Nagisa’s real training was about to begin
